The House of Iceblood

Become an Iceblood

Since 1997 the Iceblood brothers have ridden through every world we have played, from the snows of Britannia to the dark roads of Azeroth. Servers have closed. Games have died. The brothers have not. Few have carried the name, fewer have kept it, and the House is opening its doors again.

Thirty years of cold blood

A roleplay older than most guilds

The Icebloods were born in Ultima Online in 1997: dark elves with ice in their veins, sons of Mondain, played by real friends who rode with UDL. Their story has followed us from Britannia to Aerynth to Azeroth, and you can read every page of it in the Chronicle. The players behind them are real. The kinship is real. The cold, we admit, is mostly roleplay.

Two faces, one soul

Every Iceblood is an alt

Outside the House, each of us plays a main: the character we raid, siege, trade and argue on. At chosen times the mains step back, the Icebloods come in out of the cold, and we play together as family, in voice and in character. Then the brothers go quiet again until the next time the blood calls.

It is a fun way to play: a few nights of kin and story layered over the game you already love, with a name that has thirty years of history behind it.

Who may take the name

The House keeps its own counsel

By tradition, those who ride as Icebloods are full members of UDL. The House has made exceptions before, for the few who proved their blood runs cold. If you are not UDL and you want in, send the raven anyway and tell us why.

Choose a name the cold would give you

Keep it roleplay friendly and in the spirit of the brothers: hard, cold, two syllables, with an edge on the end like Warrax, Grymax and Zelak. Cyrax Iceblood or Cyric Iceblood would sit at the family table without anyone looking twice. Joke names, numbers and borrowed heroes stay outside the gate.

A sister is welcome

The House has never had a daughter in the chronicle, and it would welcome one. Make her the same way: a female Skyborne elf, black skin, white hair, Iceblood by name.

Where you fit in the story

The scattered children of Mondain

No record says how many sons the battle-priestess bore Mondain. ... The rest scattered the day the keep fell, each down his own road. Now and then one surfaces in some far realm with the cold in his blood, and takes his place again under the Iceblood name.

Your Iceblood can be one of them, a brother or a sister finding the way home after centuries on another road, the way Zelak washed up half frozen in Britannia and waited for the cold to call. The brothers will remember you, and the chronicle may too. Give your Iceblood a voice in Stories and Journals at The Broken Sword.

How often

A word from Skunk

Everything on this site is roleplay. The lore of the Undead Lords is built on Myrkul, a fictional god of death from the Forgotten Realms, and the Icebloods' bargains, oaths and dark deeds belong to characters in a story. The villains here are played for fun.

For me personally, this is roleplay and storytelling, nothing more. I worship one God, eternally three in one: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is Lord, and He alone is the one true King. Any glory in my life belongs to Him.

I built this site to give thanks for all the Lord has blessed me with. Through gaming, He brought friends into my life I never would have met otherwise, and I thank God for every one of them. I pray His blessing over each of them and their families, and I pray that anyone who hasn't yet will have their own encounter with Jesus, the one true King.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
